What is Keakie?
Keakie is a new streaming platform for mixes, podcasts and radio shows. We look outward to showcase music from across the globe, placing discovery at the forefront of the listener experience. Whether it's from the techno halls of Romania or the sun-kissed streets of Mexico City, we strive to uncover the vibrancy of the subcultures and narratives that make up the world’s musical landscape.
Who is on Keakie?
We have made it our mission to bring together a community of expert DJs, cultural authorities and evocative storytellers to curate the broadest possible range of music experiences.
What makes Keakie different from Mixcloud, Soundcloud or YouTube?
All shows are commissioned and approved before being published on Keakie, guaranteeing a high level of content quality and a differentiated experience for listeners. Our expert team of curators and designers work closely with creators to develop their brand, produce bespoke artwork and bring them closer to their fans. This combination of music curation and visual design makes for a sleek interface which places listeners’ favourite genres next to sounds they’ve yet not discovered.
How should I manage my shows on Keakie?
Our creator dashboards open up self-serve content management and lend access to advanced insights such as audience geolocation, total and average listening time, completion rate, unique listeners and other engagement statistics. Use these metrics to inform how you go about making fans on and offline, cater to them more closely and grow as a creator.
Can I have more than one show?
There is no limit to the number of shows you can have on Keakie.
Does my content need to be exclusive to Keakie?
Exclusivity is encouraged, but not mandatory.
Are there any content or licensing restrictions?
There are few restrictions on what music you can play. We operate under a global internet radio license through PRS and PPL, meaning we require each episode to be over 30 minutes in length. You must also follow the PRS guidelines outlining fair use. Tracklists are mandatory so we can accurately report licensed music to rights holders, who in turn distribute royalties to artists. You can also include unreleased or white label music in your shows, but these will not be paid a royalty via PRS.
Can we submit artwork for our shows?
We want your show to look as good as it sounds, so our in-house designers take care of the visuals. They can create concepts from scratch or work with your existing assets to optimise your artwork for Keakie and assert your identity into the minds of new listeners.
Is Keakie free to use?
Keakie is completely free to use for everyone.
How do I get paid?
With our innovative advertising platform, we aim to revolutionise the streaming industry and build a world where creators can be appropriately compensated for their craft. That way they can continue to expand our musical palette whilst receiving their fair share. A share of the revenue generated from pre-roll advertising will be paid automatically to the show on a monthly basis, providing that a specific royalty threshold has been reached.
Why should I join now?
We are a young team building a platform with the aim of revolutionising the way we discover and enjoy music. Whilst we continue to develop the product, we strive for the world's best shows to have a home on Keakie, so that the tastemakers of today and tomorrow can establish their audience on the platform and enjoy benefits in the meantime.
